The Jack Dempsey (Cichlasoma octofasciatum) is a freshwater fish native to Central America's rivers and lakes. Named after the heavyweight boxer Jack Dempsey for their aggressive nature, these fish are popular in aquariums for their striking appearance and personality. Appearance: Beige to dark brown body with 8–10 indistinct bars, and two black lines across the head. Adults have blue and green spots on the body, head, and fins. They will grow to about 8 inches.
